Yeti Zero Threshold Project

In November 2020, Yeti was engaged to supply architectural drainage systems to a high end private house development in Toorak, VIC. Our drainage system needed aesthetic appeal whilst functioning well to expel surface water from balconies and external gathering spaces. The balcony drains also needed zero threshold drains, meaning that the balcony finished floor level (FFL) needed to have the same FFL as the internal house area.

Firstly we studied the chosen door track system; our drainage system needed to be designed to allow the door track sub-sill to drop into a track housing within our drainage channel. We modelled up the door track assembly and then modelled up our zero-threshold drain around this. Once we were happy with the ideal cross-section detail of our drain, we took detailed site measurements of the length, width and outlet positions along the runs.

As with our primary jobs, we put in the over-the-top effort up front (we have had clients call us a bit pedantic in these early stages). Every zero-threshold drainage project has the same ultimate goal. Still, due to the variety of door track systems and the varying project stages that we are called to the site, we need to establish the site variables in each case and ensure that the product we supply works in the direction the builder is taking.
